Cameroon YES Alumni activities: (Sharing the Easter Joy with the less Privilege). In Santa (Bamenda) May /16th /2019

The YES alumni in Bamenda held an activity in Emmanuel Sisterhood Centre, Mile 04 Akum-Santa. They arrived at the centre at 10am and were warmly welcomed by a series of singing from the inhabitants of the centre. The YES alumni presented their gifts (some clothes, foodstuff). An opening prayer was lidded by Nadege Flora Dze YES'14, followed by a welcome speech from Sister DIVINE, the director of the centre. Collins Tadjon YES’18 then proceeded with a speech in which he explained the reason why he chose to do this project. In his speech, he equally thanked the Director of the centre for the great job they are doing in gathering and tending to the needs of the kids in whatever means they can. The alumni started with a sign game to help them memorize sign counting, and then they were paired and asked to partake in a short sign conversation so as to memorize the words, phrases learned and familiarize their selves with signing. A dancing competition followed by a singing competition was held in which the inhabitants of the centre were grouped according to age groups and they danced and a winner was declared from each group. They had an exclusive competition among the deaf and alumni.
