The YES ALUMNI in Cameroon headed by Clementine’11 organized at PK8-Bassa, on February 8, 2015 at 1PM, at the chief's House, a sensitization meeting on “ Together let’s stop tribalism. The main goal of this project was to unify the youths of this neighborhood and to sensitize them about the negative effects of tribalism in their daily lives and to bring peace amongst tribes. It started by the presentation of the Cameroon Yes Alumni Association (CYAA). After that, different Alumni presented exposes on different theme such as; the effect and cause of tribalism in school and in the society. Secondly, there was a round table discussion where tracks were distributed to the participants to have their points of view on tribalism. People had different points of view, some were for and others were against the practice of tribalism. It was really an interesting debate where people brought interesting arguments in support of their ideology. One person for example said that; tribalism in marriage is good because it makes marriage last longer and the children will easily speak their mother talk. One person against said that, tribalism means exclusion of people who are not from my tribe and that hinders the development of our country. At the end of the day, participants were very happy with the initiative more especially because, it was done by youths who are the future of tomorrow. They hope that, through this, tribalism was going to end in the near future. Pictures of the events are shown below:
